s Americans, our history is full of journeys and each journey
has a story to tell and a lesson to be learned. People have
come to the greater Boston area for hundreds of years and
for a variety of reasons. Many have come of their own initiative
seeking freedom or opportunity. Some have been forced to
come here or forced to leave by the will of others. And some
have just passed through as they searched for their journey’s
end. The Museums along the American Journeys Trail feature
the stories of the people of the greater Boston area, from
those that came long ago to the immigrants who’s journeys
have brought them here today.
