he
Old Schwamb Mill is a living document of nineteenth century
American industry, craftsmanship and technology that allows
visitors a glimpse into an exciting moment in our nation's
growth, and into the daily lives of the workers who created
it.
Since 1864 the mill has continued to produce high quality
oval and circular picture frames on belt-driven face plate
lathes brought from Germany by Charles and Frederick Schwamb
in the 1860s.
